Something that our family has been working on the last year or more is planning our meals in advance so that we can shop according to that list, control the types of food we eat and avoid the “Hmm, what should we make for dinner tonight? Eh, let’s just order something…” that leads to not so healthy eating.

We make our grocery list on Saturdays using Our groceries app (the coolest app ever that syncs the grocery list onto multiple phones), shop on Sundays and then that night when we are planning and reviewing the week we assign each night with a meal. Use meal planner like the example below that provide fun, easy and unique ideas. We live very busy lives, like most people, so when we are juggling our sweet girls, work, extra curriculars, working out and other things family dinner doesn’t always make the top of the list. BUT IT SHOULD!!!! What we eat fuels our bodies and gives us what we need to be effective, happy and feel good!

This also helps with our lunches and snacks. Planning ahead, like make your lunches the night before and fill your

water bottles so it’s one last thing to remember before rushing off in the morning.

Another really good tool I use for keeping myself accountable and plan ahead is My Fitness Pal. They have a series of apps too that make being healthy even easier.
