During my lunch break I made the last minute decision to get my hair done, changing my usual dark to something warmer and lighter. In my whim of inspiration I came across Paisley Salon and Spa next to the Sunflower Market off of Arapahoe Rd and Parker. As I walked in I was filled with a glorious feeling of beauty,class and tranquility. I was greeted by the most beautiful smile belonging to the owner of the salon, Nahid.
I explained my impulse need for something new and she knew exactly what I was talking about escorting me to a chair to talk about color and style. Now, I think we have all had the small talk conversations with our stylist but today was no ordinary small talk type of day. Today was an invigorating life long learning kind of inspirational day that filled my heart with warmth and confidence…filled with “whatever your heart desires is the path you were meant to take and it is your obligation to take that path and live your dream”.
I learned that Nahid and her sons moved to the states around 15 years ago from Iran to live the life she knew they we’re meant to live. In Iran she was ridiculed for her religion and for her dreams to be a stylist. This beautiful woman knew she and her family deserved the right to do what they love. She put herself through the programs she needed, worked really hard always doing her best building a clientele base that allowed her to open her own place… to where just 9 months ago opened up her own salon, Paisley Salon and Spa. She put in the hard work she needed and still does to make her business grow and thrive. She knows she works very hard still but she is living her dream and she is happy. Her business is growing so much that she has to hire more staff to meet the needs of her customers. Through the thick and thin she has been ridiculed, she was told many times that she was going to fail, that she was crazy…but she did it anyways. She knew what she could and couldn’t do, she controlled her fate. No one could stop her from her dreams.
She is centered and kind. her strong and warm heart is inviting and empowering. The type of person that lifts you 
up just being in her presence. You can tell her sons adore and respect her. She encourages them to get their education first so they have the tools they need to do the same and follow their hearts.
I am so inspired by Nahid and wish for more women to follow her suit, her strength and ambitions to do what they always wanted to do! If you are in the area I recommend you stop by to meet this lovely woman and experience the lovely spa she has put together. Several clients have been with her over ten years and say that she makes them feel like family, that they are home away from home.
