Whew!

I let myself get overworked and am seriously stressing myself out.  Today is a good day to remember how important it is to laugh at our human moments. Taking ourselves too seriously can lead to hair loss and wrinkles. I see it in my children and how hard they are on themselves when things don’t go well or if they make a mistake. My son will even resort to screaming and hitting himself in the head (typical kindie reaction) and running away. As parents we talk our kiddos through strategies of managing these feelings and it has become clear that even with these strategies we still take ourselves too serious. Growing up we have this obligation to be serious and more responsible. Does this growing up have to result in the loss of fun and light-heartedness?

The next time you say something wrong or certain events turn topsy turvy

Ask yourself…

1) Is there anything funny about this?

2) Am I going to let this ruin my day?

3) Would this be funny if I was wearing a onesie

Keep searching to find the silver lining and more positive than harm. It is natural and healthy, actually necessary to make mistakes. Hello, no mistakes would mean no lightbulb

Studies tell us one good belly laugh relieves 15 minutes of stress. Um, yes please that sounds way more fun than feeling stressed! Where did we lose our enthusiasm and sense of adventure.

Don’t be the person that brightens the room when you leave it be the person that brightens the room when you are present! You know some day this will be funny…why can’t it be today?
