Whoa! The Fourth of July has come and gone and August is closing at a rapid pace already!!!!! I seriously feel like I just finished my last school year of teaching and putting my plans together for the summer with the girls! Here we are approaching September and I know I haven’t accomplished as much as I thought I would by this point….

Oops!

I mean we did accomplish quite a bit and I am pleased with those changes…i.e. new floors (Thank the lord) and business promotions (Yeah New Diamond) and several play dates at the splash park!! However, there a handful of things I wanted to get done and I do have this feeling each day that I am kind of winging it!

This last weekend my family and I took a trip to the mountains and in the midst of driving I decided to listen to my Chalene Johnson Podcast. She is so vibrant, positive, intelligent and REAL! Chalene keeps it real and doesn’t  I’ve been enjoying her podcasts for the last couple of months that are super motivating and have made positive affects  on my life. This particular podcast was focused on time management….

BULLSEYE!!!

Then today I am listening to my company call and what does the CEO talk about….Planning!!

I”M LISTENING UNIVERSE!!!!!

The universe is telling me that I need to plan my days, months, etc…I’ve always known that but what I am especially hearing is the daily and weekly planning that seems to be the missing piece for me! We plan out the month on our kitchen calendar and we talk about who is doing what and when. Some evenings we talk about what the other person has planned for the next day but we never sit down and actually create a “to do” list and the “absolute must” list

There are so many things that I have on my mind that I want to accomplish that I get overwhelmed and end up not getting any of them done…just the usual maintenance stuff- Clean up house, make meals, update business pages…but that is it!

With the third quarter coming to an end it it time to commit!

Step One: Add all meetings and appointments into Google calendar that syncs with my husbands calendar

Step Two: At the beginning of the day list three things that are a “must get done” and then anything extra is a bonus and the day can be counted as a success!

Step Three: Plan family time each day where the technology is put away so that I don’t feel like all I do is work and my girls are missing me. This includes time with my husband too! He needs me and I need him!

Step Four: Get in the workout (put it in the calendar). I know I am more productive when I get in my workouts and I also know it easy to let slip because I am “too busy”.

Step Five: Focus on productive/money making activities when I am working and not just the social “busy” aspect! It is easy to get caught up on the busy end of things and forget to get in the new activities.
