Here we are almost six years married and fully into our marriage and enjoying our little family with two sweet baby girls! With our tiny Lavidya now five months old I am ready to re-commit to the vows I made to my husband on our wedding day. I’ve played with the concept the last few months, being sleep deprived isn’t the best mind set to make that happen but definitely not an excuse, but it is time to fully give in to a healthy lifestyle choice!
On August 29th 2008 Adam and I vowed to each other on our wedding day that we would live to be fit and healthy! Yep, in front of our family, friends and the universe itself we made a promise that goes further than just looking hot! We made a promise that meant living healthy lives, feeling and being strong and having more energy. We’ve seen too many couples “let it slip” and before they knew it the attraction (magic) starts to fade and so does their health. Not the best combination when things get busy and stressful. It’s inevitable that things get difficult…let’s face it, that’s life…constant change/stress. Change is good, though! How boring if it didn’t…right?!
Okay, back to the vows…
I made a vow to Adam, as a wife and the mother of his children to be fit. It is my duty to be healthy and fit. My husband wants his wife to continue to be the babe he met almost 13 years ago (more refined over time but still a babe). That attraction leads to romance and fulfilling needs that are CRUCIAL for a healthy marriage! My little girls need a healthy mama so I can provide positive and healthy lifestyle for them and have the energy to not only keep up but enjoy playing with them. And boy do I need to keep up! They need me to be healthy so I can participate in their lives 100% as long as I am alive (and that needs to be as long as possible…i.e. healthy choices=longer life span). They need their mama to show them healthy eating habits, lifestyle and exercise. How unfair to them if I didn’t…they don’t know any better! And society doesn’t exactly support healthy living like it should.
So there you have it! Eating healthy, exercising and my most challenging frog to swallow…good sleep is what I commit to! I commit to being the best version of me for my family! We only live once, might as well make it the best! I love you my sweet prince! We can do it!
